    Not really the embodyment of haunting beauty that I know geisha to be >__>

    I have to agree with the other comment. I think a major part of it is that the white make-up is off. It doesn't have powdery finish that makes maiko/hangyouku and geiko look so polished. Maybe a different make-up or technique might help?
